New Delhi:
There will be no ceasefire between Israel and Hamas at this time. Amid reports of a ceasefire, PM Benjamin Netanyahu has flatly rejected the deal. In fact, the Washington Post reports that Israel, the US and Hamas have reached a temporary agreement to release dozens of hostages. Under the agreement, fighting in Gaza will cease for the next five days. But now Benjamin Netanyahu has put a full stop to the ceasefire news.

In fact, the Washington Post received news of the cease-fire agreement from several people with knowledge. The Washington Post reports that a six-page agreement has been signed under the deal. Under this agreement, both sides will cease fighting for the next five days. Meanwhile, 50 or more hostages will be released every 24 hours. But Benjamin Netanyahu has said that no ceasefire agreement has yet been reached in exchange for the release of the hostages.
Netanyahu rejected the agreement
PM Netanyahu was asked if an agreement was in the works to ensure the release of the hostages. In response, he told the media that “there is no agreement on the table.” “We want to bring back all the hostages. We are doing our best to bring back all the hostages and we are united for this,” he said, declining to elaborate. “We obviously want to bring whole families together,” he said.
America is working hard for an agreement
The White House has also so far denied any deal. “We have not reached an agreement yet, but we are working hard to reach an agreement,” White House National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson said on Twitter in response to the Washington Post report.
240 Israeli hostages in Hamas custody
Hamas claimed on October 7 that it had captured 240 hostages from Israel. Neither the White House nor the Israeli PM have yet commented on the agreement. The release of the hostages could begin in the next few days, according to people familiar with the deal. But the Israeli PM has categorically denied this agreement.
