French President Emmanuel Macron told the BBC in an interview published late Friday that Israel must stop bombing Gaza and killing civilians. According to Reuters Macron said there was “no justification” for the bombing, and said the ceasefire would benefit Israel.

Asked if he wanted other leaders, including the United States and Britain, to join his call for a ceasefire, Macron said, “I hope they will.”
