KL Rahul has been performing well since his return to Team India.
New Delhi. In the absence of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul has been handed the captaincy of India for the first two matches of the ODI series against Australia. Under the leadership of Rahul, India defeated Australia by 5 wickets in the first ODI played in Mohali. Now the second match will be played at Holkar Stadium in Indore on Sunday. KL Rahul has made a brilliant return to Team India after injury. He was away from Team India for almost 4 months due to thigh surgery. He was supposed to return to the Indian team from the Asia Cup but got injured again and did not play the league matches due to which he made a comeback to the Indian team in the Super-4 stage of the Asia Cup. His bat has been roaring ever since. He returned from the match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup and scored a century in that match.
Along with batting, his wicketkeeping has also been good. However, many questions were being raised regarding the fitness of KL Rahul. Experts were also saying whether Rahul is fit to shoulder the burden of both batting and wicketkeeping. However, after watching his batting and wicketkeeping in the last few ODI matches, all the questions might have been answered.
KL Rahul also gave a similar answer to the questions raised about his fitness. As reported by India Today, KL Rahul said, “Everyone has seen me play in the Asia Cup, I have played all the games in the Super-4. I have bowled 50 overs, batted and scored runs, so I think those who were worried about my fitness have got their answer. Hopefully, I will maintain this rhythm for the next two months.

‘Already knew that wicketkeeping would have to be done’
KL Rahul further said, “I knew that when I came back to the team, I would have to bat along with wicketkeeping. So I worked hard on my fitness. “As cricketers, we know what challenges we will face on the field and we try to replicate that in training and practice sessions.”
