Bollywood filmmaker Farah Ali Khan, one of the biggest names in filmmaking, faced many challenges on her way to success. He has come a long way from arranging money for his father’s funeral to becoming a big name in the industry today. Born on January 9, 1965, Farah Khan Kundar, who is famous for choreographing more than a hundred songs in more than 80 films, has also won the National Film Award for Best Choreography. Apart from this, he has also won 6 Filmfare awards for his work.
Farah Khan’s father Kamran Khan was a stuntman before becoming a director, actor and producer of B-grade films. As for Farah, she made her debut in 2004 with the film ‘Main Hoon Na’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and Sushmita Sen. She was a choreographer before trying her luck in direction. The film received positive reviews upon its release and became the second highest grossing Indian film of the year. This was Farah Khan’s first nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Director. With this, she became the second female director to receive a nomination in this category.
A life full of struggles
Farah Khan’s journey has never been easy. When she appeared on Manish Paul’s podcast, she talked about her father’s death and revealed that she had only 30 rupees in her pocket when he died. He said, “The previous night he had played cards and had only Rs 30 in his pocket which he had won in the game. Sajid also shared this story in Bigg Boss. In which it was told how he had to collect money from different places to perform his father’s last rites.
Talking about his financial hardship, he said, “At one point our financial situation was so bad that we could not even get the lock on our front door repaired. So my mother used to put a stone down to keep it closed.
Farah Khan now lives a luxurious life. According to reports, he owns around 12 cars, including two of the most expensive Porsche cars. He also has a bungalow in Mumbai.
