Afghanistan got a target of 283 runs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz (65 off 53 balls) and Ibrahim Zadran (87 off 113 balls) put on 130 runs for the first wicket to give Afghanistan a great start.
Rahmat Shah (77 not out from 84 balls) and captain Hasmatullah Shahidi (48 not out from 45 balls) then put on an unbroken stand of 96 runs for the third wicket, which saw Afghanistan post 286 for 2. 49 overs..
