Petrol Diesel Prices Rise Again in Pakistan (Symbolic Image)

People in Pakistan have been suffering from inflation for a long time. Along with the increase in the prices of food items, the prices of petrol and diesel are also increasing day by day. Its impact is directly falling on the pocket of common people. At present, there is little chance of the general public getting relief from inflation. Because the government of Pakistan has decided to increase the price of petrol and diesel once again overnight on Friday. After the implementation of the new rates, the price of petrol has increased by Rs 26 2 paise, while the price of diesel has gone up by Rs 17 34 paise over the previous rate. After the implementation of the new rates, the price of petrol in Pakistan is now Rs 331.38 per liter while diesel is being sold at Rs 329.18 per litre.

It may be noted that until Friday, Pakistan government was expected to increase the price of petrol in the country by Rs 10-14 per litre. Citing industry sources, ‘The News International’ expressed fears of an increase in the prices of petroleum products. According to this, “Federal government can increase the prices of petroleum products by citing rising oil prices in global markets.”
It should be noted that the Government of Pakistan reviews petroleum prices every fortnight i.e. 15 days. It was being said that as per the previous review, if the government also adjusts for exchange rate losses, the hike could go up to Rs 14 per litre. Last time, the Pakistani government did not put the burden on the public for the weakening of the Pakistani rupee against the dollar.
The current price of petrol at oil depots in Pakistan (petrol price in Pakistan) is Rs 272 per litre. If the government passes the burden of global crude oil price hike on consumers, the cost per liter will be Rs. 286.77 can be done.
