New Delhi. The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the 15-member squad for the ODI World Cup 2023. Former captain and chief selector Inzamam UL announced the squad. Fast bowler Naseem Shah has not got a place in the team. The injury occurred during the Asia Cup 2023. Naseem’s shoulder injury will take a long time to heal. Hasan Ali has been given a place in the World Cup squad instead of Naseem. Talking about the World Cup, Pakistan will face New Zealand in a practice match on September 29. The team will take on the Netherlands in their first match of the World Cup on October 6 in Hyderabad. A match between India and Pakistan is scheduled to be played on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Three players who participated in the Asia Cup have been left out of the World Cup squad. 2 have been included as reserves. Including Mohammad Haris and Zaman Khan. While Faheem Ashraf has also not been kept in the team reserve.

While announcing the squad, Chief Selector Inzamam Ul Haq said that our players have played more matches in the last few days. We have included only those players in the squad who have been playing for the last one year. We played only 2 bad matches in the Asia Cup. In such a situation everyone should expect a good performance from the team. He said that our bowlers are not taking wickets in the middle overs. This is a concern for us. The team management is paying attention to this.

Regarding Hasan Ali, Inzamam-ul-Haq said that many of our players are injured. Even though he is going to play ODI after a year but his performance has been good. Regarding Imad Wasim, he said that the doors have not been closed for any player. Any player must play for the home team to make a place in the squad. Only he will be given preference.
