Paralympic champion Sumit Antill won the gold medal at the Asian Games 2023, breaking his own world record.

Defending Paralympic champion Sumit Antill won the gold medal in the F64 javelin event at the Hangzhou Asian Para Games in China on Wednesday. He broke his own world record. Twenty-five-year-old Sumit won the gold medal with an effort of 73.29 metres. He bettered his own world record of 70.83m while winning the gold medal at the World Para Athletics Championships in Paris this year.


Another Indian, Pushpendra Singh, won the bronze medal in the same event with an effort of 60.06m. Sri Lanka’s Samita Arachige Kodithuvaku (64.09) got the silver medal. Sumit won the gold medal in the men’s javelin F64 event at the Tokyo Paralympics with an effort of 68.55m, a world record at the time. At the ongoing Hangzhou Asian Para Games, this is India’s 10th gold medal taking its total to 36.

India has Asian Games 2023 Performed strongly and won a record 100 medals. A large number of medals are also being seen in the Para Asian Games. So far India has won 34 medals including 9 gold medals, 12 silver medals and 13 bronze medals. Dozens of Indian players are still in the field.
