A flight carrying more than 300 Indian passengers to Nicaragua has been intercepted in France on suspicion of “human trafficking”. Officials gave this information on Friday. The Paris public prosecutor’s office told the AFP news agency that the plane carrying passengers “likely to be victims of human trafficking” was intercepted on Thursday after an anonymous tip.

The plane took off from the United Arab Emirates. Prosecutors said the national anti-organized crime unit Junalco was investigating.
The province of the northeastern department of Marne said the A340, operated by Romanian company Legend Airlines, “was parked on the tarmac at Vetri airport after landing.” It said the plane was refueling and had 303 Indian nationals on board.
According to a source familiar with the matter, the Indian tourists may have planned to travel to Central America to attempt illegal entry into the US or Canada.
