A fast bowler from Maharashtra who started with a hat-trick in the very first match. After that he continued his strong performance and later managed to make it to Team India. The speed at which the player moved forward, the down fall also happened at the same speed. After that began a streak of acting, drug addiction, love and failure. Due to which he was forced to go to rehab. Salil Ankola was the name of the player who shone in the world of cricket in the 1990s, around whom debutants like Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, Sachin Tendulkar and Ajit Agarkar made their debut. And, Salil Ankola got lost among them. But now he has been included in the selection committee as the selector of the Indian senior cricket team. Not only that, he was also a part of the 1996 World Cup.

Salil Ankola’s career started to improve somehow but in the meantime he was badly affected by alcohol addiction. Due to which life once again started upheaval. Salil Ankola’s wife left him with the child. To cope with this pain, he drank more alcohol. After which he had to go to a rehab center. In the year 2020, he got a chance to join cricket again. He was made the selector of the Mumbai cricket team.
