Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday discussed the Israel-Hamas conflict with United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as fighting between the two sides resumed after a week-long ceasefire. Modi and Mohammed bin Zayed met each other here during the COP28 World Climate Action Conference.

Modi posted on social media platform ‘X’, “I am always very happy to meet my brother Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Today’s meeting during COP28 was very meaningful. Thanks for his warm hospitality. We wish to enhance India-UAE friendship and our Also discussed various issues with the aim of making the planet more sustainable.
“The two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and exchanged views on the Israel-Hamas conflict,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said on ‘X’.
Israel’s war with Hamas resumed on Friday. Shortly after the end of the one-week ceasefire, Israel launched an airstrike on the Gaza Strip.
On the other hand, sirens were sounded to warn of incoming rockets into Israel, a sign that Hamas extremists have also resumed attacks.
Modi congratulated the UAE President for the successful hosting of COP28 and invited him to participate in the ‘Vibrant Gujarat Summit’ to be held in Gandhinagar in January.
He also thanked the President of the UAE for co-hosting the high-level meeting on the Green Climate Program (GCP) at COP28.
Later, Prime Minister Modi also met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristerson and Maldives President Mohammed Muizu, Barbados Prime Minister Mia Amor Motley, Guyana President Mohammed Irfan Ali and Swiss Confederation President Alain Berset.
