PM Narendra Modi said – the dignity of the old building should not be reduced, it should be called ‘Samvidhan Sadan’

New Delhi:

Parliament is being shifted to the new building today. On the occasion of the farewell ceremony of the old Parliament House, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that this central hall is full of our emotions. It makes us emotional and also motivates us for our duties. Here, the meetings of the Constituent Assembly were held. The constitution took shape. Here the tricolor and national anthem were adopted. More than 4000 laws were passed in Parliament. A law was made to get rid of Article 370. Since 1952, around 41 heads of states of the world have addressed all our honorable MPs in this central hall. All our Presidents have addressed here 86 times. We are leaving here with a new resolve. PM Modi said that if we are going to a new building, the dignity of this old building should not be reduced. So the old Parliament House should be known as ‘Constitutional House’, so that its dignity is not diminished and the coming generation remembers it.

Honorable MPs and Parliament have a very important role in this work. The constitution made in this house was implemented in Jammu and Kashmir. India now has to work on a bigger canvas

Regarding India’s rapidly growing economy, PM Modi said that today India has reached the fifth economy, but is moving forward with the determination of the first 3. Based on the information I have from where I am and the conversations I have had with dignitaries around the world, I say the world is confident that India will be in the top 3. The way the youth of India are progressing in the world of technology, they are becoming a center of attraction and acceptance for the entire world. 25 years after Amritkal, India now has to work on a bigger canvas. “We now have to work towards becoming the best in the world in manufacturing. Our designs, our software, our agricultural products, our crafts, we now have to move forward with the intention of surpassing global standards in every area.”

Old Parliament House now ‘Constitutional House’

Prime Minister Modi said that now we are going to a new building. But it is my request to all honorable people that the dignity and respect of this old building should not be diminished. It is not right if we leave it as an old parliament building. So I want this old building of Parliament House to be known as ‘Samvidhan Sadan’ now. So that this building will always be the inspiration of our life. When we address this building as ‘Bandharan Sabha’, it will remind us of the great men who once sat in the Constituent Assembly. We must not let go of this opportunity to give this gift to future generations.
