The minister will visit the grounds
The Minister will direct the officers attached to the Pollution Duty and will also visit the ground himself. These visits will be especially on Delhi’s borders as well as construction sites, as dust control regulations have not been enforced even after work has stopped in many places. Officials have also been ordered to observe. Tomorrow is expected to remain cloudy, but it is hard to tell if it will rain or not. In such cases our endeavor is to enforce the rules.
Will officials work in coordination with ministers?
Regarding this, Gopal Rai said that ever since the central government took away its powers from Delhi by making a law, the situation is reversed and the biggest example is the smog tower. All the reasons on which the official closed the smog tower disappeared after the Supreme Court decision.
Could be artificial rain!
Artificial rainfall is being considered to reduce pollution in Delhi. Environment Minister Gopal Rai has called a meeting with the IIT Kanpur team. Artificial rainfall was planned earlier in 2018, preparations were also made by professors of IIT Kanpur, but it was not possible due to unfavorable weather conditions. Now again there is a possibility of artificial rain in Delhi.
It is noteworthy that the impact of pollution in Delhi-NCR does not seem to be diminishing. Even today the AQI in Delhi is above 400 i.e. in the dangerous range. Greater Noida has an AQI of over 450, while in Noida it is close to 400. Delhi and many surrounding cities are among the 10 most polluted areas in the country. Here, app-based taxis from other cities have also been banned in Delhi. Now only registered cabs can ply in Delhi.
