According to the Panchang, the Purnima Tithi of the Shukla Paksha of the Margashirsha month will begin at 5.46 am on Tuesday, December 26 this year and will end the next day at 6.02 am on Wednesday, December 27. Margashirsha Poornima will be celebrated on December 26 only, keeping in view Udaya Tithi. Devotees will observe Purnima Vrat on this day.
Purnima Puja Ritual
According to belief, Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi are ritually worshiped on Margashirsha Purnima day. It is considered auspicious to bathe in Brahma Muhurta on this day. Bathing in holy rivers on the full moon day is especially auspicious. Devotees who are unable to bathe in the river can bathe by mixing Ganga water in the water. After bathing, clean clothes are put on and the vow to fast is taken.
It is also very auspicious to read the story of Satyanarayana on the full moon day. Worshiping Lakshmi Narayan is considered very auspicious and fruitful.
