Superstar Rajinikanth turned 73 on Tuesday, December 12, and the title of his new film has been announced on this special occasion. For a long time, the actor was in the news for his upcoming film Thalaivar 170, due to several reasons. Recently the makers have officially released the title of Rajinikanth’s upcoming film which is titled Vettayan. In English it means Hunter and in Hindi it means Shikhari. This means that Rajinikanth will be seen on screen as a hunter in Vettaiyan.
In the video released by the makers, the stylish Rajinikanth is seen wearing his glasses and speaking a dialogue about his victim. Earlier, the team shared a post that read, ‘The Thalaivar 170 team wishes our superstar Rajinikanth a very happy birthday! The excitement is about to reach its peak in less than 3 hours! Get ready for the grand unveiling of the #Thalaivar170 title at 5 PM!
Why is Vettayne special?
People are waiting for Vettayan’s film for a special reason, as it is going to feature two big superstars. In fact, Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth, two veterans of the entertainment world, are together in this film. One is Millennium Star Amitabh Bachchan and the other is South Industry Thalaivar Rajinikanth. After the announcement of the film, Rajinikanth shared a picture on the social site and it is no less than a treat for the fans. This one photo of Rajinikanth is worth a thousand words. Amitabh and Rajkanth are working together again in Vettayan. Rajinikanth recently started shooting for this film and now Amitabh has also joined the shooting.

Sharing this special photo on the social platform, Rajinikanth wrote, ‘After 33 years, I am once again working with my mentor Mr. Amitabh Bachchan in the film Thalaivar 170. TJ Ganewal is directing the film. My heart is filled with happiness. Let us tell you that this superstar couple was seen in the film ‘Hum’ 33 years ago. Mukul S. Released on 1 February 1991. Anand’s film ‘Hum’ was well liked. Amitabh played the role of ‘Shekhar Malhotra’ and Rajinikanth played the role of Inspector ‘Kumar Malhotra’ in the film.
Last time, Rajinikanth earned 700 crore rupees
On the work front, Rajinikanth had a great year thanks to the massive success of Jailer. It emerged as the highest-grossing Tamil film and the fifth-highest-grossing Indian film of 2023. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer’s lifetime earnings are around Rs. 700 crore while it is Rs. 250 crore was done. Rajinikanth is now looking forward to hitting the big screen with Thalaivar 170, where he will be seen sharing screen space with stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Manju Warrier, Fahadh Faasil and Rana Daggubati.
