Onion News: After the ban on the export of onion, its price has come down drastically. The maximum price of onion in the country has gone up to Rs 84 per kg and minimum to Rs 32. While the average is Rs 55.48 per kg. According to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs website, on Sunday, December 24, 2023, the average price of the cheapest onion in Telangana was Rs 45 per kg. However, onion is now being sold at Rs 30 to 35 per kg in many parts of the country.
Onion price in these states is 50 to 55 rupees
According to the data, the average price of onion in Chandigarh and Puducherry on Sunday was Rs 50 per kg and in Rajasthan Rs 50.75 per kg. In Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Maharashtra, Delhi, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, onion prices were Rs 50 to Rs 50 per kg.
The price of onion here is 70 rupees per kg
At the same time, onion prices in Karnataka, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh range from Rs 56 to Rs 60 per kg. While the price of onion in Assam, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat is Rs 60 per kg, while in Meghalaya and Sikkim the price of onion is Rs 70 per kg.
Prices of everything fell
If we talk about other essential consumer goods, prices of rice, mustard oil, sunflower oil have all declined in the last two weeks. On December 24, 2023, Tomato Rs. 39.28 to Rs. 32.03 to 18.46 percent cheaper. Onion prices have fallen by over 21 percent on average, while potato prices have also weakened. Prices of tea, jaggery, vegetable oil and soya oil also fell marginally. On the other hand, the prices of gram dal, lentil dal, gram dal, arhar dal have also decreased.
