New Delhi. Coming into the two-match Test series against South Africa with high expectations, Team India faced defeat on the very first day. The South African bowlers wreaked havoc on the Indian team who came to bat first after losing the toss. Half the team sat in the pavilion with a score of 107 runs. The veteran fast bowler dismissed Team India veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to give him a return ticket.
The Indian cricket team had a very embarrassing batting performance on the first day of the Boxing Day Test against South Africa. Visiting captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and elected to bowl first. Captain Rohit Sharma, who has been desperate to score a fifty on South African soil for the last 10 years, could only score 5 runs. Yashaswi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill also returned cheaply. Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer somehow managed to make it till lunch but even the most experienced Proteas bowlers outclassed them.
1 bowler wreaks havoc
The legendary South African bowler wreaked havoc on the experienced batsmen of Team India. Kagiso Rabada first dismissed captain Rohit Sharma for just 5 runs. After this the wicket of Shreyas Iyer and then Virat Kohli was taken for the team. Before lunch, the pair of Virat and Iyer proved difficult for South Africa, who were broken by Rabada on his return. Shreyas Iyer was clean bowled for 31 runs and Virat Kohli was caught behind the wicket for 38 runs.
