Russia has intensified airstrikes in Ukraine
Moscow:
The war between Russia and Ukraine continues. Five civilians were killed in a Russian attack on the Kherson region of southern Ukraine on Sunday. On the other hand, Ukrainian officials said that Russian-backed authorities in the eastern city of Horlivka said that one person was killed in the shelling from Kiev. Russian forces abandoned Kherson, the administrative center of the Kherson region on the Dnieper River in southern Ukraine, and the city of Kherson on the river’s western bank a year ago, but have since continued shelling several areas in the eastern region. Ukraine has suffered a lot because of this.

Reuters reported According to Ukrainian officials, there has been continuous Russian shelling in the city for the past 24 hours, which has hit civilians in Kherson. Regional police said three people were killed in the shooting at a residential building and a private house in Kherson city. A woman was killed in a drone attack in a small town south of Kherson, and another woman was killed in heavy shelling in a town in the north.
The head of the Kherson regional military administration’s press office, Oleksandr Tolokonnikov, told Ukrainian media that the attacks partially cut off gas and water supplies, which also affected a medical facility. “The windows were broken, the building was damaged,” Tolokonnikov said.
Ukrainian shelling destroyed a shopping center and several other buildings in Russian-controlled areas of Ukraine’s Donetsk region in the town of Horlivka, about 600 km (400 miles) northeast of Kherson, a Russian-controlled official said. Ivan Prikhodko, the Russian mayor of Horlivka, said on the Telegram messaging app that a woman was killed and six civilians were injured in the attack. Reuters could not independently verify the Russian and Ukrainian reports.
While Moscow and Kiev have denied targeting civilians in the war that Russia launched on Ukraine in February 2022, both sides have launched multiple attacks on each other’s facilities, resulting in many deaths.
