Sanju Samson may return to Team India for the T20 series against AUS

New Delhi. Indian cricket team will play home T20 series against Australia (IND vs AUS) after ICC World Cup 2023. Senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah can be rested in this series. Hardik Pandya is out of the rest of the World Cup due to injury. There is little hope of Pandya’s comeback in the T20 series against Australia as well. The Indian team will prepare for the next year’s T20 World Cup through this series. Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson may return for the home T20 series against Australia.

Sanju’s bat was quiet in the quarter finals
The Indian selectors may announce the squad for the upcoming T20 series against Australia this week. Sanju Samson, who captained Kerala in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023, couldn’t do much with his bat in the quarter-finals. He scored two fifties in 8 matches. He was dismissed for a golden duck in the last 8 matches against Assam. In that match, Sanju tried to play a big shot on the first ball. Due to Sanju’s cheap dismissal, Kerala’s batting fell apart and the team crashed out of the quarter-finals. However, it is expected that the selectors will not be able to see this performance of Sanju at the time of team selection.

Rituraj Gaekwad may get the captaincy of Team India
Sanju Samson has not made it to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 squad. He may join the team as the first-choice wicketkeeper in the T20I series against Australia. Sanju may come to bat at number four after resting the senior players in this series. Young opener Rituraj Gaekwad may be made the captain of Team India for this series. The Indian team under Gaekwad’s captaincy recently won the gold medal in the Asian Games in China.
