The 2007 romantic comedy ‘Jab We Met’ was a hit. The characters of this film are still remembered. Now once again this film is in discussion. Because the news of its sequel is coming on the internet. According to a report in Times Now, planning for Jab We Met 2 is currently in the early stages. Ashtavinayak owner Raj Mehta will produce the film under the banner of Gandhara Films. Not only this, according to the report, Imtiaz Ali, who directed Jab We Met, will also work on the sequel.
Although no official announcement has been made yet, fans are speculating that maybe Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor will reunite for the sequel and take their roles of Aditya and Geet to the next level. Earlier this year, ‘Jab We Met’ was re-released in theaters and even Shahid Kapoor discussed the possibility of a sequel in an interview. The actor said, “It actually depends on the quality of that script. So if there’s a script that calls for a sequel and I think it’s that kind of script then I’ll definitely do it… but if I think it doesn’t and I just want to use the brand value of the original film. If I’m trying to do it, I won’t do it.
The actor also praised Kareena Kapoor for her role as Geet in the film and said, “I can’t comment on my role but for Geet, I really doubt anyone else can do it that kind of justice.” Although there is no confirmation about this from the director or the actor, it would be interesting to see Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor reunite for the sequel of Jab We Met.
Currently, Kareena Kapoor is all set to make her OTT debut with Sujoy Ghosh’s thriller Jaane Jaan. The film also stars Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat and is set to premiere on Netflix on September 21. On the other hand, Shahid Kapoor is a part of Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah’s project.
