AUS vs PAK: Australia announce playing XI for second Test, Pakistan drop former captain
Veteran fast bowler Mohammad Shami has been ruled out of the two-match Test series starting Tuesday, December 26 at the SuperSport Park in Centurion due to an ankle injury. The famous Krishna or Mukesh Kumar can be included in the final playing XI in place of Shami.
When Bavuma was asked about the impact of Shami’s absence in the pre-match press conference, he said, ‘As a cricketer you want to face the best and Mohammad Shami is one of the best players and most of us want to face him. Be eager to do. But India is India, and with the depth they have, you have to believe that whoever comes will push you too.
Sanjay Manjrekar opts to play 11 for IND vs SA 1st Test, these players out including Ashwin!
He continued, ‘Because of the conditions at home, we understand our team advantage, you would expect us to adapt better but the Indian bowling attack is very strong and obviously Shami is not there but it is still strong. The bowling attack is the reason they have been able to achieve so much success in Tests over the last 5-10 years.
