SSC GD Constable Notification 2024: Staff Selection Commission released the recruitment notification for 26146 posts of SSC GD Constable on Friday night. The application process has started on the official website ssc.nic.in. The last date for application is fixed on 31st December. Fees can be paid through online mode till January 1, 2024. Through this recruitment, thousands of vacancies of GD Constable in BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB and Rifleman in Assam Rifles will be filled. Vacancies are 6174 posts of BSF, 11025 posts of CISF, 3337 posts of CRPF, 635 posts of SSB, 3189 posts of ITBP, 1490 posts of Assam Rifles, 296 posts of SSF. There are total 23347 posts for men and total 2799 posts for women. 9626 posts for men and 1183 posts for women are unreserved. Among males, 3334 posts are reserved for SC, 2354 ST, 4776 OBC, 3257 posts for EWS category. While among women, 408 posts are reserved for SC, 248 for ST, 584 for OBC, 376 for EWS.

1. Eligibility – 10 pass youth can apply for constable recruitment.
2. Age limit is 18 years to 23 years. Age will be calculated from January 1, 2024 onwards. Candidate should not have been born before 2 January 2001 and not after 01 January 2023. The maximum age limit will be relaxed by three years for OBC and five years for SC ST category.
3. How will selection be made?
First there will be a written exam (computer based). Successful candidates will be called for Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement Test (PST). PET PST Clearers will be called for Medical and Document Verification. The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the written examination. PET PST will be only qualifying. Only passing PET and PST will be required.
4. GD Constable Recruitment Exam 2024 will be held on 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 29 February and 1, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12 March, 2024.
5. Pattern of Written Examination
The paper will be of one hour duration. Only 80 questions will be asked in the paper. The written exam will ask questions related to General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics and English/Hindi subjects. 20 questions each will be asked from all four sections. All sections will be of 40 marks each. There will be negative marking. Fourth mark will be deducted for wrong answer.
The exam will be conducted in 13 languages
The examination for recruitment to the post of Constable GD in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will now be conducted in 13 regional languages apart from Hindi and English. With this decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs, lakhs of candidates appearing for the GD Constable recruitment exam will be able to take the exam in their mother tongue. This will increase their chances of selection.
6. Salary – Selected candidates will get pay scale of Level-3 – (Rs. 21,700-69,100).
7. Physical Qualification Rules (PST)

Male candidates – 170 cm.
Female Candidates – 157 cm.
Chest – Male Candidates – 80 cm. (Extended – 85 cm)
8. Physical Performance Test (PET – Physical Test)
Male candidates have to run 5 km in 24 minutes. Female candidates also have to run 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes.
9. Final Merit
The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the written examination of the PET/PST passers. PET PST will be only qualifying.
