Senior IAS officer Suhas LY, who was the District Magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar, Noida, made the entire country proud by winning a gold medal at the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, China. Suhas won the gold in the men’s singles SL-4 category by defeating Malaysia’s Mohammad Amin 2-1 in the final match. India’s record-breaking performance in the Asian Para Games continues. On the third day, India won a total of 12 medals including 6 gold. India has so far won 96 medals including 24 gold medals in the Asian Para Games 2023. India is currently fourth in the medal tally after China, Iran and Japan.

Suhas LY became an IAS officer in 2007. During the COVID-19, he was made the District Magistrate of Gautam Buddha Nagar on 3 March 2020. Suhas LY has been the District Magistrate of Maharajganj, Sonbhadra, Hathras, Prayagraj, Jaunpur and Azamgarh. Suhas LY was promoted on 27 February 2023. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appointed him as the Secretary of the Sports Department.
In the matches held here on Friday, Pramod Bhagat won the gold medal in the men’s singles SL3 badminton event and Niteshank proudly won the silver medal in the men’s singles SL3, showing incredible skill and unwavering determination.
While Tulasimathi won the medal in Badminton Women’s Singles SU5 category. She defeated China’s Qixia Yang 2-0 to win the gold medal.
Paralympic champion Sumit Antill won the gold medal at the Asian Games 2023, breaking his own world record.
Sheetal Devi won gold medal in women’s individual compound open archery event. She performed brilliantly and won the medal in the women’s individual compound open event by defeating Singapore’s Aleem Noor Sayahida in a thrilling match.
In another match, archer Rakesh Kumar won a resounding silver medal in the men’s individual compound archery event in a close match against Iran’s Alisina Manshaizadeh.
