Suryakumar’s fear among Australian bowlers told someone else not to bowl.

Thiruvananthapuram. Indian team has come to play T20 series against Australia after ICC ODI World Cup. Suryakumar Yadav is taking charge of Team India during the T20 series against Australia. Australia’s left arm fast bowler Jason Behrendorff was seen creating trouble for the batsmen. He wants to stay one step ahead of the likes of Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan but admits that doing so is often difficult.

In the first T20 match between India and Australia, Behrendorff was the only Australian bowler who did not let the batsmen play freely. He took one wicket for 25 runs in four overs. India achieved the target of 209 runs and took an early lead in the series. Suryakumar and Kishan scored half centuries in this match. When Behrendorff was asked what strategy he would adopt to stop these Mumbai Indians teammates, he joked, “I’ll give the ball to someone else.”

“He is a very good player,” Behrendorff said on the eve of the second T20 match. One may try to stay one step ahead of them and it is sometimes difficult to do so. Maybe we can do whatever we can with changes in pace, line and length.

The team management strategy for Behrendorff is simple, taking wickets in the first six overs to put pressure on the opposition. Behrendorff said, “I was lucky that whenever I played in India, the ball was swinging. So, I am just bowling from my strong side and I try to swing the ball and take wickets in the powerplay. I am able to do this.

Behrendorff plays for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. He took 14 wickets in 12 matches of this tournament this year. He was not a member of Australia’s World Cup winning team and in the meantime he prepared for the series by playing domestic cricket. He said, “I was preparing for this series by playing domestic cricket. Coming to India and playing against them has always been challenging.
