New Delhi. Movies are released every week in Bollywood. Some films are released with much fanfare and some are secretly released and create a huge buzz at the box office. But, did you know that a few days back a film was released, which turned out to be India’s most disaster film ever. The film was directed by Ajay Bahl. When the film turned out to be a super disaster, the actor said that the film was unfinished.
Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar’s recently released film ‘The Lady Killer’ is in the news. The film makers released the trailer and the film without any promotion. When the film, made at a cost of 45 crores, did well at the box office, the director of the film shocked him by saying that the film was not completely shot.
‘Adhuri’ movie released
In a statement to the Tried and Refused Productions podcast, Ajay Bahl confirmed that the film was released theatrically despite being ‘incomplete’ and said that it was ‘not surprising that people found it ‘disorganized and disjointed’.
117 page script, 30 pages not shot?
He said yes the film is incomplete. In fact, of the 117-page script, 30 pages were never shot. The large number of connecting scenes, the whole romance of Arjun and Bhumi, Bhumi’s dependence on alcohol, Arjun’s feeling of being trapped and losing everything and running away from the city, his feeling of complete hopelessness, all these psychological beats are missing. So yes, it’s no surprise that the film feels disjointed and disjointed and it becomes difficult to connect with the characters.
Shooting ‘The Lady Killer’ is a painful process for the director
Ajay also wrote that shooting ‘The Lady Killer’ was a very painful process for him as a director. But this is no fault of Arjuna and Bhumi. Ajay enjoyed working with him. Because both those actors worked hard in this film. According to Ajay, the problem was elsewhere. However, he did not specify where the problem lies.
Statement changed in 24 hours?
However, within 24 hours, Ajay Bahl retracted his statement that ‘The Ladykiller’ was incomplete, saying that its ‘humor and satire’ had been misinterpreted. In a statement, the film’s director said, ‘This is a humorous take on the baseless rumor being spread about the film’s completion status. I understand that humor and sarcasm can sometimes be misinterpreted. I would like to emphasize that ‘Ladykiller’ is a perfect film presented to the audience and I am very proud of this project. I am grateful for the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in making this film a success.
