Stokes first century in WC, completed 50 to 100 runs in just 20 balls

New Delhi. Defending champions England, who have been eliminated from the World Cup 2023, are now trying to save their reputation. Stokes was unbeaten on 58 after 44 overs but in the 45th over of the innings bowled by Indian-origin Aryan Dutt, he scored 22 runs which included three sixes and a four. After this, he targeted Bas de Leyde in the 47th over of the innings and hit a six and a four. In the 48th over of the innings, Van Meekeren completed his century with a four.

Stokes became the first England player to score more than 10,000 runs and take more than 100 wickets in international cricket during this innings. This is the second time in the current World Cup that England have crossed the 300-run mark, having previously scored 364 runs against Bangladesh in Dharamshala.
