TIME magazine and online data platform Statista have given the big title to IT sector giant Infosys Limited. This company has been ranked in the list of top 100 best companies in the world. Infosys is the only Indian company to feature in this list.
What is the ranking?
Infosys has got 64th position in this list. Tech companies like American IT company Microsoft, Apple, Alphabet (parent company of Google) and Meta Platform (formerly Facebook) topped the top 100 list. The ranking was based on a formula of revenue growth, employee satisfaction surveys and strong environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG or sustainability) data. The rankings reveal that fast-growing technology and business services companies are displacing the manufacturing, consumer goods companies that once drove the global economy.
In addition to Infosys, seven other Indian companies have been named in TIME’s list. A total of 750 companies were involved in this. Wipro Limited is ranked 174th, Mahindra Group is ranked 210th, Reliance Industries Ltd at 248, HCL Technologies Ltd at 262, HDFC Bank at 418, WNS Global Services at 596 and ITC Ltd at 672.
