Cape Soup Restaurant Shut Down: You may have heard of chicken or veg soup but not cat meat soup. Yes, an old restaurant in Vietnam served its customers cat soup for years. For this he used to kill at least 300 cats every month. Now the restaurant owner is regretting his move. Now he has locked his restaurant. He has sent more than 20 cats to an adoption center that were put to death at the restaurant.

Vietnam’s Humane Society International said that in early December, restaurant owner Pham Quoc Don locked up his restaurant after he tore down an advertisement for cat meat soup outside his Jia Bao restaurant. According to a Metro UK report, restaurant owner Pham regrets his mistake and has now stopped doing it. Also 20 cats kept in the restaurant have been released. Some have been sent to adoption centers and some locals have adopted the cats.

Now I regret it
Pham, a father of two, says, “Before selling cat meat soup in a restaurant, I used to serve other ordinary food and drinks. However, it was not enough to support me and my family. Then I started selling cat meat. Thought. Selling the soup made. There was nothing like that available in our area at that time.”

According to Humane Society International, an estimated one million cats are killed in Vietnam each year, including stolen pets and stray animals. The 37-year-old restaurant owner said he used to hold the cats with a stick and dunk them in a bucket of water. He said, “I was very saddened to see the suffering of the cats. After that I took this decision.”
