It has been revealed that his mother married a minor girl to a young man from UP’s Hathras. After investigation, the AHTU team arrested six people and filed a report against them under the Children Act.
A team of AHTU reached a house at Jayanthipuram in Pilikothi around 1 pm on Friday night. A party was going on here in a closed room. During the investigation, it was found that a woman from Haldwani got her 16-year-old daughter married to Atul Sharma (30), a resident of Hathras UP.
Investigation has revealed that the minor girl is a student of class VIII. The team registered a case under the Children Act against the landlord, the girl’s mother, the middleman and named the groom Atul, a resident of Hathras, UP, his family Sachin Kumar and the priest.
AHTU in-charge SI Deepa Joshi said that the marriage has been annulled and the girl has been sent to Nari Niketan. While the families of the bride and groom involved in the marriage have been sent to jail. The police said that the investigation of the case is going on.
