Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah shared the TV viewership figures for the India vs Australia final on social media on Thursday. The Indian cricket team might have lost the title match against Australia on November 19, but all the old TV viewership records have been destroyed. He tweeted that 30 crore fans in India watched the Cricket World Cup 2023 final on TV, making it the most watched program of any kind in Indian television history.

Coming to the title match, India opted to bat first but the batsmen did not perform as expected. Despite Rohit’s explosive start, the Indian team struggled to score runs. The Indian team could score only 240 runs after losing all the wickets in 50 overs. In reply, Australia won the match by 6 wickets with the help of Travis Head’s century. KL Rahul scored the highest 66 runs from India. But for this he played 107 balls. Kohli played an innings of 54 runs and Rohit played an innings of 47 runs.
The Indian bowlers put good pressure on Australia in the powerplay and took three wickets. But Travis Head and Marnus Labusche played a vital role in Australia’s victory with a 192-run partnership.
