UPPSC: Now in Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission direct recruitment, selection will be based on 75 percent marks in screening exam and 25 percent marks in interview. Taking into consideration the long-standing demand of competitive students, Commission Chairman Sanjay Sreeneth has taken this decision. This system has been implemented with immediate effect. This rule will be applicable in the selection process for more than 90 per cent of Group ‘B gazetted posts, except for a few posts with certain qualifications.
Earlier, in direct recruitment, selection was based on 100 percent marks in interview. When the number of applicants was high, a screening test was taken, but its marks were not added. Some competing students were also demanding addition of screening marks alleging discrimination in interviews. This rule will also be applicable in the recruitment of Assistant Professors of Government Degree Colleges.
Hitherto the recruitment of assistant professors in non-government aided colleges by Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Service Commission was done through written examination and interview. While selection in government degree college by UPPSC was done on the basis of screening test and interview. Now this decision will bring uniformity in both recruitments.
Two members each and experts in the interview board
The interview board for direct recruitment will consist of two members and an expert. Earlier one member and one expert used to conduct interviews. This decision has been taken with the aim of maintaining fairness and transparency in the selection process of the commission. Even earlier, Commission Chairman Sanjay Sreeneth has taken many important decisions to make the interview process transparent.
