Nawaz Sharif said that we did nuclear test and gave a jaw-dropping reply to India for doing nuclear test.
Lahore:
Hours after returning to Pakistan, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif recounted the achievements of his tenure and recalled how he stopped India’s nuclear tests in 1998 despite US President Bill Clinton’s offer of US$5 billion. The correct answer was given. Sharif returned home from Dubai on a special flight on Saturday after four years in self-imposed exile in Britain in a bid to lead his party to a general election expected in January and a record fourth term in power.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Sharif (73) arrived in Islamabad from Dubai by special plane ‘Umeed-e-Pakistan’ at 1.30 pm local time. After this he reached Lahore, the stronghold of his party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), to address a massive rally.
Addressing the excited crowd, Sharif said, “I am meeting you today after many years, but my love relationship with you remains the same.” There is no difference in this relationship. I am proud of the love I see in your eyes.”
“There will be a record in the Foreign Office that Clinton offered me five billion US dollars,” Sharif said. This happened in 1999…I could have been offered a billion dollars, but I was born on the soil of Pakistan and it did not allow me to accept anything that was in favor of Pakistan.
Taking a dig at his arch-rival and former prime minister Imran Khan, Sharif said, “Tell me, if there was someone else in my place, would he have said this in front of the US president?” He said in Minar-e. Pakistan. “We conducted nuclear tests and gave a befitting reply to India for conducting nuclear tests,” Sharif said in his nearly 60-minute address at a PML-N rally in Mumbai. “So were we punished for this?” Is this why judgment is passed against us?
Sharif said he had never betrayed his supporters nor was he shy of making any sacrifices. He recalled how false cases were made against him, his daughter (Mariam) and his party leaders. “But no one has dropped the PML-N flag,” he said. He said, “Tell me, who are those who separated Nawaz Sharif from his country? We are the people who made Pakistan. We made Pakistan a nuclear power. We ended the power cut.
He compared how high the price of bread is today compared to when he was in power. Sharif said, was I fired for this reason? What is this decision? You, the public, tell me, do you agree with this decision?”
