Bribery Scam: Ethics Committee recommends cancellation of Lok Sabha membership of Mahua Moitra.

The Ethics Committee made national security the most important basis in its recommendation. In its recommendation, the committee has said that Mahua Moitra shared the log-in details of her parliamentary account with unauthorized persons, affecting national security. The committee termed this as a serious offense and therefore recommended the dismissal of Mahua Moitra as a member of the Lok Sabha.

Terming it an “immoral, heinous and criminal act” related to national security, the committee recommended the Indian government to investigate it within a time bound manner. Besides, the money trail of cash and other facilities taken from businessman Darshan Hiranandani by Moitra has been recommended to be received within the time frame.

A report of 500 pages is ready
The Ethics Committee has prepared a 500-page report in the case of Mahua Moitra. The committee has also recommended to the Lok Sabha Secretariat that there should be a legal, intensive, institutional and time-bound inquiry into the entire matter. Now Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has to take a decision.

Sharing login id and password should be severely punished.
On the allegations of sharing log-in ID and password, the Ethics Committee has said that Mahua should be severely punished for this serious crime.

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on October 15. In which he alleged that Mahua took money and gifts from businessman Darshan Hiranandani to ask questions in Parliament. The Speaker referred the matter to the Ethics Committee.

He has described Darshan Hiranandani as his old friend. However, Moitra has denied the allegations of asking questions after taking the money.

Moitra’s ex-partner filed a fresh complaint
At the same time, Mahua Moitra’s former partner and lawyer Jai Anant Dehdarai has filed a fresh complaint against her. Supreme Court lawyer Jai Anant Dehdrai filed a complaint at the Hauj Khas police station on Tuesday accusing Mahua Moitra of trespassing, i.e. forcibly entering her house and threatening the staff. Earlier, Dehdrai had expressed the threat to his life before the Delhi Police Commissioner.

Advocate Jai Anant Dehdrai has written a letter to the Station House Officer (SHO) of Hauz Khas police station on Tuesday. In which Dehdrai alleged, “After appearing before the committee, Mahua Moitra came to his house on November 5 and 6 without informing him. I fear that Moitra may try to pressure me on the pretext of my dog ​​Henry.”

Lawyer Jai Anant Dehdrai recently wrote to the CBI and BJP MP Nishikant Dubey claiming that Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra took bribe from businessman Darshan Hiranandani to ask questions in Parliament. Due to these complaints, the Ethics Committee of Parliament investigated Moitra.
