The registration process in 38 engineering colleges of Bihar has ended after the second phase. This time there will be no nomination under mopup round. Even after the completion of the second phase, more than half of the seats are vacant. 13675 seats were to be registered in 38 government engineering colleges of the state, but only 5733 seats could be registered. After the completion of the second round, 7942 seats are left vacant. In these vacant seats, seats are vacant in Computer Science and several related streams. While in the new session 2023-24, 2810 seats were increased in 38 government engineering colleges. This time 360-360 seats were fixed in all engineering colleges. Only MIT Muzaffarpur has only five seats less. There are 355 seats here. Registration for 360-360 seats is to be held in all the remaining 37 engineering colleges.
New branches were opened in many colleges this time, but computer science and computer science related subjects were the most in demand. Even after this some seats remain vacant in all colleges related to computer science. Along with this, there will be admission to 90 seats in Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Institute of Women and Technology and 38 seats in SGIDT Patna. A total of 115 seats are vacant.
BCECEB said that it has been decided to fill the remaining vacant seats in engineering colleges from PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) group candidates based on the combined merit list of Bihar Common Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) 2023.
Online counseling is to be done as per merit cum option from PCM group. The online counseling process will start from September 1. Registration and selection can be done from 1st to 4th September. The provisional seat allotment for the first phase will be announced on September 8. Nomination under the first phase was held from September 9 to 11. At the same time, the provisional seat allotment for the second phase was announced on September 15.
