No false declaration, ready for death penalty if found guilty: Patanjali Ayurveda

Baba Ramdev-led company Patanjali Ayurved on Wednesday said it was not doing any ‘false advertising or promotion’ of its products. He also said that if his claims are found to be misleading, he does not mind if the Supreme Court imposes a fine or gives him the death penalty.

The company said that it respects the court and “if our advertisements are found to be false, we do not mind if the honorable court imposes a fine of crores of rupees on us or even gives us the death penalty.”

Addressing reporters in Haridwar, Ramdev said that the Supreme Court should have heard his side as well.

Ramdev said that if the Supreme Court gives him an opportunity to present his case, he himself is ready to appear before the court with full facts, clinical evidence and scientific research papers in support of his claim.

He said that he still stands by his claim to completely cure serious diseases through Ayurveda and Yoga.

“Patanjali Ayurveda shall immediately stop all such false and misleading advertisements,” a bench of Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah and Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra, while hearing the Indian Medical Association’s (IMA) petition, said in oral remarks on Tuesday.
