14th October:- Mahua Moitra’s former live-in partner and Supreme Court lawyer Jai Anant Dehdrai had filed a complaint against Mahua for taking bribes and asking questions in Parliament. Jai Anant Dehdrai also wrote a letter to BJP MP Nishikant Dubey in this regard.
15th October:- After this, BJP MP from Jharkhand’s Godda Nishikant Dubey made the same complaint to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla about Mahua Moitra. Dubey demanded Moitra’s suspension.
16th October:- BJP MP Nishikant Dubey demanded Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Minister of State for IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar to investigate the login ID and IP of Mahua Moitra’s Parliament account. Mahua also asked for CDR and log-in details of all the MPs. Rajeev Chandrasekhar also tweeted about this.
17th October:- The Speaker referred the complaint of BJP MP Nishikant Dubey to the Ethics Committee. On the same day, Mahua filed a defamation petition in the Delhi High Court.
18th October:- The Lok Sabha Ethics Committee issued a notice and asked Nishikant Dubey to appear before the committee on October 26. The statement of lawyer Jai Anant Dehdarai was also taken on the same day.
19 October:- Explosive confession of businessman Darshan Hiranandani came out. He admitted in his affidavit that Mahua Moitra had given him the credentials of his Lok Sabha account, so that he could post the question. Hiranandani also admitted that Moitra demanded huge cash, luxury gifts and foreign trips from him in return.
20th October:- Mahua’s defamation case was heard on the same day. The court has given the next date as October 31.
21st October:- Nishikant Dubey has alleged that Mahua Moitra’s Parliament ID has been logged in 47 times from Dubai. While she herself was in India during that time. After this, the Ethics Committee sought a report from the IT Ministry, the External Affairs Ministry and the Home Ministry.
27th October:- The ethics committee asked Mahua Moitra to appear on October 31. Mahua sought a date after November 5 for the appearance. On the same day, Mahua Moitra admitted that she had given the log-in ID and password of her Parliament account to Hiranandani. He alleged that the government held a gun to Darshan Hiranandani’s head and made him sign an affidavit.
28th October:- On Mahua’s request, the ethics committee asked him to appear on November 2 instead of October 31.
Mahua also agreed to appear.
31st October:- Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has requested the removal of several media houses as parties from her petition filed in the Delhi High Court against airing alleged fake and defamatory material against her. The trial will continue against only two defendants – BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and lawyer Jai Anant Dehdrai.
1st November:- A day before Mahua Moitra’s appearance, the Ethics Committee received reports from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of IT. The IT Ministry report said Mahua’s Parliament account was logged in 47 times from Dubai.
2 November:- On November 2, Mahua Moitra appeared before Parliament’s Ethics Committee. Meanwhile, there was a huge commotion in the meeting. Mahua said the ethics committee should be given another name because there is no ethics left in it. The Chairperson asked questions in a hateful and insulting manner. 5 out of 11 members present there boycotted the investigation. Mahua alleged that personal questions were asked which tarnished her dignity as a woman. The committee rejected these allegations. The next meeting was scheduled for November 7, which was later cancelled.
6 November:- Mahua claimed that the meeting of the Ethics Committee of the Lok Sabha scheduled for November 7 was postponed to keep committee members and Congress MPs away from the proceedings.
8th November:- According to sources, after investigating the matter, the Parliamentary Ethics Committee has recommended the cancellation of Lok Sabha membership of Mahua Moitra. At the same time, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has claimed on his ax handle that the anti-corruption panel has ordered a CBI probe against Mahua Moitra in the case.
9th November:- The ethics committee will meet on November 9 to consider the draft report on the allegations against Mahua. The committee has asked Mahua to appear at 4 pm on Thursday.
