Cricket Australia picks WC’s best playing XI, Kohli becomes captain, Rohit out

New Delhi. League matches of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 are over. The semi-final matches will be played from November 15. In the first semi-final, India will face New Zealand (IND vs NZ) in Mumbai, while in the second semi-final, the teams of South Africa and Australia will meet on 16 November. After the conclusion of the league phase, Cricket Australia has selected the best eleven squad for the World Cup 2023, with Virat Kohli named as the captain while Rohit Sharma has been left out of the squad. Everyone is surprised by this decision of Cricket Australia. CA also did not place Rohit as a player in their team.

Cricket Australia’s 12-member squad includes 4 players from India. Which includes Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah. Australia’s David Warner, Glenn Maxwell and Adam Zampa have been named, while South Africa’s 3 players Quinton de Kock, Aiden Markram and Marco Jansen have been included. Rachin Ravindra has got the place from New Zealand. Sri Lankan fast bowler Dilshan Madhushanka managed to make it as the 12th player.
