Delhi schools closed: Delhi Education Minister Atishi Malini has announced the closure of all primary schools in the National Capital Region till November 10, 2023. At the same time, schools have been given the option to conduct online classes from class 6 to 12. The Education Minister said that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the dangerous level of pollution in the capital region.
While posting on Atishi X, she said that everyone should know that the pollution level in Delhi has been very bad for the past several days. Keeping this in mind, it has been decided to keep all primary schools closed till 10 November 2023. While schools from class 6 to 12 have been given the option of conducting online classes.
Earlier on Friday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had announced to close all government and private schools for a day if the level of pollution becomes severe.
According to PTI, Delhi’s air quality was also reported as severe (hazardous) on Sunday morning. The minimum temperature in the area on Sunday was 15.8 degrees Celsius, which was above the season’s normal temperature. According to the IMD, the humidity was 96 per cent.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) was 415 at 4 pm on Saturday, down from 460 at 7 am.
Let us tell you that AQI between 0 to 50 is considered good. 51 to 100 is considered satisfactory, 101 to 200 is considered moderate and 201 to 300 is considered poor. Levels above this, 301 to 400, are considered very bad and 401 to 500 are considered alarming.
