England make a sudden change to their World Cup squad, dropping the explosive batsman

New Delhi. England had long ago announced their squad for the ICC ODI World Cup to be played in India this year. On Sunday, September 17, the England Cricket Board dropped explosive batsman Jason Roy from the final squad. Harry Brook has been given a place in the team in this sudden change.

The ICC Cricket World Cup is just a few days away. It is scheduled to be held between October 5 and November 19 in India. The ICC has set September 28 as the last date to announce the squad for the tournament. The names of 7 out of 10 teams participating in the World Cup have been revealed. England have made a big change in the 15-man squad they announced. In a shock decision on Sunday, the cricket board included Harry Brook, excluding explosive batsman Jason Roy.



England team selector Luke Wright gave his views while informing about this major change in the team. He said, ‘For England we have picked a team that can go to the World Cup in India and win it. England have great players in this team and the recent series against New Zealand proved it. The biggest strength of this team is to take tough decisions without hesitation. We have decided to drop out Jason Roy, an outstanding player, and replace him with Harry Brook.

Harry Brooke scored many runs for England who toured Pakistan in 2022. In the series of 3 Test matches, this batsman scored a total of 468 runs at an average of 93. Played 3 century innings and his highest score was 153 runs.
