The group match between India and Pakistan could not be completed due to rain. In such a situation, it was arranged to be played on the Reserve Day as well, following the possibility of rain in the Super 4 match. A day was kept to prevent further damage to India if the match against Pakistan was ruined. If it rains on the first day of the match, it will have to be made up on the second day. This match is essential for India to reach the final. If not, they will have to share 1-1 points with Pakistan.
What happens if the match is not played on Reserve Day?
What will happen if the match between India and Pakistan does not take place after 10th September i.e. even on Reserve Day? This question is in everyone’s mind. If the Indian team has to share the points, then Pakistan will benefit. The team has got 2 points by defeating Bangladesh and after the match against India it will be 3 points. On the other hand, Sri Lanka also have 2 points and India will have to play Bangladesh along with Sri Lanka. It will be necessary for the Indian team to win the next two matches to reach the final.
