New Delhi. The Indian cricket team made a strong comeback after falling behind in the T20 series against South Africa to earn a 1-1 draw. Now Team India is eyeing the three-match ODI series. Under the captaincy of KL Rahul, Team India will play their first match against South Africa on Sunday 17th December. Speaking to the media before the match, the captain answered a question about the ODI debut of the explosive batsman who hit sixes in T20Is.
The Indian team will be playing in this format for the first time after losing in the final of the ICC ODI World Cup. KL Rahul will have the captaincy in his hands and will be intent on putting this disappointing defeat behind him and making a fresh start. On Sunday, December 17, Team India will play the first match of the three-match series, before which KL Rahul spoke to the media. T20 sensation Rinku Singh has found a place in the ODI squad and when asked about his debut, the captain gave a straight answer.
Rinku Singh will get a chance in ODIs
KL Rahul said about Rinku Singh, We have seen this batsman in IPL and he plays very open. It’s a lot of fun to watch him play, he’s quite refreshing. Rinku Singh’s brilliant performance in the T20 format has been good so far. I am confident that he will get a chance in the ODI series as well.
Rinku Singh made his T20 International debut against Ireland in August this year. Since then, he has played a total of 12 matches and scored 262 runs at an average of 65 with a strike rate of 180. Meanwhile, the biggest innings of 68 not out is recorded in his account. Rinku Singh played 2 T20 matches in the recent tour of South Africa in which he scored his first career fifty. In the second match he scored an unbeaten 68 runs while in the last match he could score only 14 runs.
