Former Pakistan cricketer said- I am not against Babar Azam but he should give up the captaincy…

New Delhi. Pakistan captain Babar Azam is being questioned after his poor performance in the World Cup 2023. Talking about the World Cup, the Pakistan team could win only 4 matches out of 9 and did not even reach the semi-finals. After Pakistan’s exit from the World Cup, former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik has advised Babar Azam to quit captaincy and asked him to focus on batting.

Shoaib Malik speaking on A Sports said, “I am not against Babar Azam. But does he feel he can handle the pressure of both captaincy and batting simultaneously? We don’t think so. Because the skipper has affected his batting. I think Babar Azam can be a better batsman than a captain. So, my advice is that he should leave the captaincy and focus on his batting.

Ind vs Nz: Before the semi-final, someone close to the ‘Hitman’ said – I will be proud to see the trophy in Rohit’s hands.

Let us tell you that Babar Azam was made the captain of the limited overs team for the first time in 2019. Then in the year 2021, he also took over the captaincy of the Test team. So far, he has led the Pakistan team in 2 Asia Cups, 2 T20 World Cups and the current ODI World Cup, but has failed to win a single title for the team. Last year, he managed to lead his team to the finals of the 2022 T20 World Cup. But England defeated them.

World Cup 2023 was nothing special for Babar Azam. Along with captaincy, he could not show anything special with his bat. He scored a total of 320 runs at an average of 40 in 9 matches in the World Cup. His highest score has been 74. It will be interesting to see what the Pakistan Cricket Board decides on Babar’s captaincy.
