Kohli has scored this century by playing the least number of innings. He equaled Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 centuries for the most in ODI cricket. Cricket God Sachin Tendulkar has reacted to Virat’s historic century. Expressing happiness over Virat’s century, Sachin hoped that King Kohli would soon break his record of 49 centuries.

Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 101 off 121 balls at the historic Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. During this he hit 10 fours. Virat completed his century in 119 balls. After seeing Virat’s century, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar wrote on his Instagram page, ‘Virat played well. Earlier this year it took me 365 days to go from 49 to 50. I hope in next few days you will reach 49 to 50 and break my record. Congratulations!!’ Sachin celebrated his 50th birthday in April this year.

Virat became the third batsman to score a century in the World Cup
Virat Kohli scored his 49th century on his 35th birthday. Virat is third in the list of batsmen who have scored a century on their birthday in World Cup history. Earlier in the 2011 World Cup, New Zealand’s great batsman Ross Taylor scored a century in the World Cup on his birthday. Australian opener Mitchell Marsh also scored a century in the World Cup on his birthday.
