“Sinvar came to see us three or four days after we arrived in Gaza,” the woman told the Hebrew-language newspaper. I asked him how he felt about being treated by people who had supported peace for so many years. How could you not? Are you ashamed?”
The woman said that on her question, “He did not give any answer. He remained silent on this question.” According to the report, Yahya Sinwar later told the hostages in Hebrew that you are all in the safest place. There is nothing to fear here.
Speaking to reporters after her release from Hamas captivity last month, Lifshitz said she had been through “hell” during her two weeks as a hostage in the Gaza Strip.
At the beginning of the war, Hamas released 4 women. Yocheved Lifshitz was among them. He stated that he was beaten up after being abducted. But during his two-week imprisonment, Hamas fighters treated him well.
Upon her release, Yocheved Lifshitz turned to shake the hand of her masked captor. His pictures were also shared on social media. When asked about this, he said, “He was kind to us. He catered to all our needs.”
