New Delhi. Jasprit Bumrah can be considered as the best bowler of the Indian team in all formats of cricket. Many former cricketers rank him among the best bowlers in the world in the current era. Be it Test cricket, ODIs or T20Is, in each of these formats, Bumrah not only takes wickets but also proves to be very economical. As a bowler, he has good variation and tests the opposition batsmen with accurate yorkers and slower balls.
Former South African fast bowler Makhaya Ntini is also a fan of Bumrah’s bowling skills. Ntini believes that due to Bumrah’s absence, the Indian team is no longer the bowling unit it used to be.
,The South African batsman always roars against India at home, averaging more than de Villiers.
‘Leave the ball overhead’
Ntini, who took 390 wickets in Tests and 266 in ODIs for South Africa, said, ‘It seems that Bumrah’s wrists are very strong. While giving a detailed analysis of Bumrah’s bowling in a conversation with India Today, he said, ‘Look where he (Bumrah) leaves the ball. He leaves the ball over his head and maybe because of that he manages to get the angle to bring the ball in. He also throws balls that stay upright after being pitched. The special thing is that his bowling action is always the same, it is great.
Five batsmen have scored centuries on debut and last Test, including one Indian.
Ntini said, his yorkers do not miss the target
Praising Bumrah’s yorker in particular, the former South African fast bowler said, ‘His yorker doesn’t miss the target. These are truly things that everyone can enjoy. Without Bumrah in the team, India would not have been the same team as before. As for Bumrah, he is playing his first Test since July 2022. In the Centurion Test against South Africa (India Vs South Africa), he proved to be India’s best bowler so far and took two of the five wickets he fell.
