Bank and Stock Market Holidays 2024: In the new year 2024, the equity market will be closed for a total of 14 days. Out of them 5 holidays are coming on Wednesday and Friday. Apart from this two are falling on Thursday and two on Monday. This time Tuesday is not a holiday. Let us tell you that this year i.e. from 2023 to next year there is one less holiday. Markets were closed for 15 annual holidays in the year 2023.

According to the holiday calendar given on BSE, the new year 2024 includes Republic Day (January 26), Mahashivratri (March 8), Holi (March 25), Good Friday (March 29), Ramzan Eid (April 11), Ram Navami. (April 17) ) Markets will remain closed in Maharashtra. Labor Day or May Day (May 1), Bakrid (June 17), Muharram (July 17), Independence Day (August 15), Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti (October 2), Diwali (November 1), Guru Nanak Jayanti (November 15) And stock markets will also be closed on the occasion of Christmas (December 25). However, for Diwali there will be a special Muhurta trading on November 1. The Exchange may change any of the above holidays, for which a separate letter will be issued in advance.

If we talk about bank holidays, there is only one holiday in the first month of New Year 2024 apart from weekly holidays. Banks across the country will be closed on the occasion of Republic Day. Similarly, 19th February is a holiday. This day is the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and banks in Mumbai, Nagpur and Belapur will be closed on this occasion. There are three holidays in March 2024. Banks will be closed on 8th March Mahashivratri, 25th March Holi and 29th March 2024 on the occasion of Good Friday.
Banks will be closed on 1st, 9th, 11th and 17th April except Sunday and Saturday weekly holidays. There will be another 23 bank holidays in May 2024. In June 17th is Bakrid holiday, while in July also banks will be closed on 17th of Muharram.
If we talk about holidays in August 2024, there will be no work in banks on the occasion of Republic Day (15), Raksha Bandhan (19) and Sri Krishna Janmashtami (26). Banks will be closed on Ganesh Chaturthi (7th) and Barwafat (16th) in September. Banks will be closed on 2nd, 12th and 31st of the festive month of October. 1st, 2nd and 15th November will also be bank holidays. Like today, in December 2024 also banks will be closed on 25th.
