Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president JP Nadda will arrive here on Monday night as part of a two-day visit. A leader of the party gave this information. The meeting between the two leaders is to assess the organizational situation in West Bengal ahead of the Lok Sabha elections next year.

Will assess organizational strength
The state BJP leader said, “Both leaders will meet state leaders late on Monday night. Amit Shah and JP Nadda will visit Gurdwara Bara Sikh Sangat and Kalighat Temple on Tuesday morning. In the afternoon, they will meet state leaders and allied organizations. The meetings will be held together in connection with preparations for the Lok Sabha polls.” Conduct and assess organizational strength.
He said he will participate in a closed-door event at the National Library and then leave for New Delhi in the evening. According to BJP state general secretary Agnimitra Paul, the meeting between the two top leaders shows the importance the party’s central leadership attaches to Bengal.
Amit Shah aimed to win more than 35 Lok Sabha seats from West Bengal. In the last Lok Sabha elections, BJP won 18 out of 42 parliamentary seats in the state.
