‘I wanted to do it, but Sandeep Sir…’ ‘Fukrey’ hero gets Animal offer, misses film in confusion

Mumbai. The Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna starrer is between Shah Rukh Khan’s Dinky and Prabhas’ Salaar at the box office. Bobby Deol made a comeback with this film and regained his years old stardom overnight. More heroes were approached for the film. Later he also went to meet director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. But there was no conversation between the two about doing the film. The actor has now opened up and told what happened with Sandeep. The actor has given hits like ‘Dream Girl 2’ and ‘Fukrey 3’ in 2023.

The actor’s name is Manjot Singh. Manjot said in an interview to India Today, “I went to meet Sandeep Reddy Vanga sir and he told me about the character. The role was of Ranbir’s cousin, whom he visits in his village in Punjab. The character’s name was Manjot. At that time I didn’t know much about the character.

Manjot Singh said, “The character is well written. When he gave me the information, it felt great. Then I discussed this with Sandeep sir and told him about the schedule of my upcoming films. I have been a big fan of his work. I have seen Kabir Singh thrice. I asked him if I should do Animal or not.

Manjot Singh further said, “I wanted to work with Sandeep sir because of his respect. But he told me – the role is not so spectacular that people remember it. So no problem. We will work together again in the future.” Ultimately Manjot could not do this film.

‘Animal’ released at the box office on December 1 and is still in theatres. The film collected a total of Rs 642.30 crore in 26 days in India. It is among the highest grossing films in the careers of Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna.
