The first Test match of the two-match series between India and South Africa is being played at the SuperSport Park ground in Centurion. KL Rahul, who returned not out after scoring 70 runs on the first day of the match, scored a century on the second day and set many records in his name. KL Rahul took India’s score to 245 runs by playing an innings of 101 runs against South Africa. India scored 208 runs for eight wickets at stumps on the first day of the match. The kind of innings played by KL Rahul will go down in the pages of history. KL Rahul’s innings becomes more special considering the pressure the Indian team was under and the way the pitch was helping the fast bowlers of the home team. Sachin Tendulkar, the master blaster of this innings, has also praised KL Rahul.

Tendulkar wrote on Twitter (now X), ‘KL Rahul you played brilliantly. His clear ideas impressed me the most. His footwork felt absolutely precise, and that’s what happens when a batsman is thinking in the right direction. This century is very important considering this test match. Considering the position they were in yesterday, India will be happy with a score of 245. Apart from this, Tendulkar also expressed his thoughts about South Africa’s bowling.

CENTURY WITH SIX… KL Rahul created many great records in one stroke

‘I have been watching cricket for 50 years…’, Gavaskar was happy to see Rahul’s century

He further wrote, ‘Nandre Berger and Gerald Coetzee look like good bowlers to add to South Africa’s bowling line-up. But I think South Africa will not be too happy with their bowling given the circumstances. KL Rahul faced 137 balls during which he hit 14 fours and four sixes. Rahul also completed his century with a six. The second highest scorer from India was Virat Kohli who played an innings of 38 runs. For South Africa, Kagiso Rabada took five wickets and Andre Berger took three wickets.
