India vs South Africa T20 international series ended in a 1-1 draw. The last match of the three-match series was played in Johannesburg on 14 December, in which Team India registered a huge victory by 106 runs. India were invited to bat first and Yashaswi Jaiswal opened the innings along with Shubman Gill. Gill scored eight runs in six balls and returned to the pavilion after getting out lbw off Keshav Maharaj. Gill looked in good touch and looked like he would play a big innings, but was dismissed early. In fact, the ball that Gill was out on was a not out. Gill was out LBW and returned to the pavilion without taking DRS. Yashaswi Jaiswal at the non-striker’s end advised him not to get a review and he returned to the pavilion. Later, replays revealed that Gill was not actually out as the ball was missing the stumps.
Later, when the replays were shown on the big screen, the anger on the face of Team India head coach Rahul Dravid was evident. In fact, when a batsman bats, he consults the batsman standing at the non-striker’s end to decide whether to take DRS or not. Gill did the same.
Surya created such havoc… Virat and Babar’s record in danger.
IND vs SA: Who won Player of the Match and Player of the Series?
A batsman standing at the non-strike end can clearly see how much the ball has turned and how much it has dropped. However, Yashaswi made a mistake here and thus Gill got out cheaply. Yashaswi played an innings of 60 runs in this match. India scored 201 runs in 20 overs. Captain Suryakumar Yadav scored 100 runs. In reply, the South African team could not even reach 100 runs and were all out for 95 runs. In this way, India won the match by 106 runs. Kuldeep Yadav took five wickets.
